The Story of Our Secrets by Shari Low

I’m so delighted to be part of the tour today for this gorgeous book. Thanks so much to Rachel’s Random Resources and Boldwood Books for the invitation to be part of the tour and the copy of the book.

Colm O’Flynn was loved by his close circle of family and friends, however his death came too soon for everyone to make peace with their past.

Shauna, his second wife, adored him. But one night she broke their marriage vows, and didn’t get time to ask Colm’s forgiveness.

Jess was the first Mrs O’Flynn. Her heart is set on someone new, but will the last one night stand she shared with Colm come back to haunt her?

Colm’s best friend, Dan, is recently divorced. Can he take a second shot at happiness if it means betraying the one person who always had his back?

What no-one knows is that somewhere out there Colm left messages that could set them free to start over again.

Can divine intervention help them find Colm’s last wishes before it’s too late to love again?

My Review:

Shari Low is one of my absolute go-to authors. I don’t even need to read the blurb before I agree to review one of her books.

Yet again, she has managed to write a book that is both poignant and emotional, but to sprinkle it with her trademark humour.

Her characterisation is just superb. Her authentic dialogue makes for characters that feel so real. They’re not all perfect or loveable, but they feel as if you know them.

Colm leaves a series of video messages for his loved ones, and the use of various narrators and a dual timeline makes this story flow so well.

An emotional read but one that manages to tackle grief in an uplifting and heartfelt way, this beautifully written book will have you smiling through your tears.

My Rating:

Rating: 4 out of 5.
