The Face at the Window by Ruby Speechley

I’m so delighted to be part of the tour today for this gripping book. Thanks so much to Sarah of Book on The Bright Side, and to Hera Books, for the copy of the book and invitation to be part of the tour.

Book Description:

They’re in your house.

They want your life.

And now, they have your baby.

To the world, I’m @HappyWife. Online, people only see my picture-perfect home, my handsome husband, Nick, and my beautiful baby, Thomas.

They don’t see the real Gemma Adams. They don’t see my past, the dark secrets I’m hiding in my marriage. They don’t see the fear I live in every single day.

But I know someone is watching me. And now, they’ve taken Thomas.

I just don’t know why.

But I’m going to stop at nothing to get my baby back.

Even if it destroys everything I’ve got to find him.

A compelling thriller, packed with suspense – fans of K.L. Slater and Lisa Jewell won’t be able to put it down.

My Review:

This is such a gripping and suspenseful book, it had me absolutely hooked from the very start. It starts off on a very ordinary day, but suddenly Gemma’s world is thrown into turmoil as Thomas is taken.

There are many layers to the plot in this book. Almost all the main characters have secrets to hide. The story is told from two main characters’ points of views, and at first it’s not clear where everyone fits in. When the pieces of the puzzle start to fit into place, the truth is shocking, and there are quite a few plot twists along the way.

I can’t tell you too much about the plot, as it would be so easy to give too much away. All I can say is that this is an absolute must-read, which will have you on the edge of your seat, turning the pages as fast as you can.

This is a book which will totally get inside your head, both while reading it, and after you’ve finished. It’s just compulsive reading, and I found it hard to put down.

Everything is perfect about the writing, the sultry hot weather adds to the sense of tension, the back stories of the characters build up a picture of the type of people they are and the story flows perfectly.

A tightly plotted, twisty and intriguing book, this is one that you won’t want to miss. Compelling and unputdownable.

My Rating:

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
