Let’s Talk About Cats by Anita Kelsey

I’m delighted to be part of the blog tour today for this fascinating and unique book. Thanks to Rachel’s Random Resources for the copy of the book and invitation to be part of the tour.

Let’s Talk About Cats. Conversations On Feline Behaviour

Let’s Talk About Cats: Conversations on Feline Behaviour features 16 unique in-depth conversations with devoted feline experts, each chapter answering a question about our cats. An abundance of catty conversation points which provide many useful takeaways for cat owners to improve their own every-day connection with their cats.

This book, the first of its kind, presents the combined wisdom of experts from all over the world on the psychology, behaviour, diet and training of cats, in a relaxed and conversational style. Contributors include Jackson Galaxy, star of My Cat From Hell, and composer David Teie, whose ground-breaking album, Music for Cats, was released by the Universal Music Group.

Each illuminating chapter exudes a love for cats and a wealth of fascinating insights.

This book is packed with helpful advice, guidance and true stories from the author’s own professional experience of cat care topics, explaining the most important cat concepts, giving food for thought and expanding on all the most important issues and debates in the cat world.

My Review:

I have two cats, and I’ve read books about cats before, but most of them focus primarily on cat care, with perhaps a small section on cat behaviour. This book is the most comprehensive book about cats that I’ve ever read. It literally covers everything that you can possibly think about, and it’s very well laid out and interesting.

Each section has case studies and interviews with other experts, and it’s a totally fascinating read. Even having had cats for most of my life, I still learned so much from this book. I feel it gives us a greater understanding of our feline friends.

I never knew there was such a thing as music for cats, and even though I wasn’t particularly a fan of it, my cats loved it! I also got a greater understanding of why there’s sometimes some conflict in areas such as the doorways, hallway etc.

There are sections on cat behaviour, psychology, communication and even practical topics such as training and diet. It’s the only cat book you’ll ever need. Even if you are an experienced cat owner, this book will give you a deeper understanding of your pet.

Very accessible and totally fascinating, I would recommend this book to anyone who has ever been owned by a cat!

My Rating:

Rating: 5 out of 5.
