All Fall Down by MJ Arlidge

“You have one hour to live.”

Those are the only words on the phone call. Then they hang up. Surely, a prank? A mistake? A wrong number? Anything but the chilling truth… That someone is watching, waiting, working to take your life in one hour.

But why?

The job of finding out falls to DI Helen Grace: a woman with a track record in hunting killers. However, this is A case where the killer seems to always be one step ahead of the police and the victims.

With no motive, no leads, no clues – nothing but pure fear – an hour can last a lifetime.

My Review:

This is one of the most heart-pounding thrillers I’ve read!

This book can easily be read as a standalone. I hadn’t read any Helen Grace books before this one, but I certainly want to go back and read them all now. She’s a fascinating and complex character, and I’d love to know more about her.

While certainly a chilling read, with a great build-up, the pace of this superbly plotted book is rollercoaster fast. It’s truly edge of the seat stuff, and almost movie-like in the quality of the drama.

There’s a bit of a dual storyline going on, with elements of the victims’ past being brought in. There’s also an interesting twist to the police procedural timeline, with a particularly tenacious journalist who is sometimes one step ahead of the police. There’s real depth to this plot.

Be warned! As it gets near the end of this book, you will be absolutely unable to put it down, so cancel everything. This is not a book to dip in and out of, it’s completely addictive and engrossing.

One of the best thrillers I’ve read, absolutely cannot recommend it highly enough for anyone who likes a fast-paced and gripping read.

My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
