MY REVIEW:
This book is simply stunning. It’s heart-breaking and heart-warming all at the same time, and it just flows so beautifully.
I loved discovering all about Alice and Alex’s relationship, and the little things that were so special to them. I really warmed to them as characters. Her relationships with her lovely patents, and her best friend, Ryan, were so special too.
It’s difficult to review this book without revealing too much about the plot, but I thought that the ending was perfect, it was done so well, and handled so sensitively.
The chapters alternate between present day, and extracts from the “manual” which Alice writes for the recipient of her heart. It’s poignant and really gives us an insight into her life and relationships.
This book deals with difficult subjects like terminal illness and organ donation, and manages to turn them into something beautiful and uplifting. A wonderful debut. Highly recommended.

Sarah Jane was born in Scotland but grew up in the Cheshire countryside, which is home to her. After a few years living in Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire, where she went to secondary school, she has now settled back in Cheshire in a quirky flat surrounded by trees, birds and rolling fields.
A marketing professional since finishing her formal education Sarah Jane is delighted to be following her writing dream. She still works part-time as a Marketing Manager, whilst furiously penning her second novel.
